What rewarded Raniero was our ability to offer a compact electric forklift truck that, despite having a greater capacity, has the same dimensions to operate in tight manoeuvring spaces.

Tata is one of India’s largest industrial groups with a long industrial history in a wide range of manufacturing sectors. The group consists of 93 companies in seven business sectors employing approximately 220,000 people. Approximately 65 percent of the group’s ownership is controlled by the Tata Foundation.

For one of their steel mills in Wales, in collaboration with our UK distributor Red Diamond Distribution Ltd. we delivered 4 electric forklifts in 120V with 30 ton capacity. Each truck was developed based on the following requirements. To handle steel coils weighing between 25,000 and 30,000 kg each with different centers of gravity, to travel along narrow aisles and to be available for loading production lines throughout the day. The trucks delivered replaced Paus LPG ones. Our versatility was the ability to design a 30t truck with the same dimensions as the 23t Paus model. A width of 2200 mm, a length of 4530 mm and a large turning radius.

Our delivered machines have side shifter, a 1100 mm boom to lift coils up to 1600 mm deep, 1 battery of 120V 1860Ah which guarantees an autonomy of 6 hours of effective work. The position of the high seat, the external mast cylinders, the presence of working lights, blue spot light and rear video camera guarantee greater safety to the operator during the various phases of loading and unloading.

The project has required for the survey by Manho Trading of the types of loads to be handled and the possible maximum dimensions at the customer’s premises. The gradients and overall dimensions present in the aisles inside the storage sheds and the operational autonomy required for the truck.

The client company that purchased our forklift trucks is a Korean company listed in the main Asian financial markets. It produces plates, cylinders, tubes and other special steels for the aeronautical and aerospace sectors. It has chosen the option of an electric forklift for greater sensitivity to environmental aspects and to aspects related to the reduction of daily costs of using the forklift.

Based on these elements collected by our Korean distributor we redesigned our AC250-8-CO 120V: 25000 kg at 800 mm load centre, compact in length, 120V. The forklift has been lowered from the standard 3100 mm to a total height of 2690 mm to allow the trolley to pass between doors and tunnels 2900 mm high.

Each truck has been equipped with two 120V 1860Ah batteries each to be available for unloading/loading lorries and in stock within 24 hours. Each battery offers an operating autonomy of 7 hours and are interchangeable in less than 3 minutes.
