FAQ – Raniero Electric Forklifts
1. How can we determine the correct model and configuration for our needs?
The evaluation and needs analysis follow a process similar to that of a standard forklift (diesel, LPG, or electric). To recommend the ideal solution, we will ask you to provide:
- Weight and dimensions of load;
- The type of attachment required: side shifter and fork positioner, paper clamp, rotating forks …;
- The required residual capacity at the maximum lifting height;
- The approximate number of daily operating hours.
Based on this data, our technical team will define the perfect model, optimal configuration, optional features, attachments, and the most suitable battery.
2. Where can we use a Raniero electric forklift? Can it work outdoors in rain, snow, dust, or near heat sources?
Yes, absolutely. A Raniero electric forklift can operate anywhere an internal combustion forklift works. It is designed for use in any industrial sector, whether in clean indoor environments or outdoors in the presence of dust, dirt, rain, snow, freezing temperatures, or heat sources. Furthermore, it can move easily across different types of terrain, both regular and uneven.
3. What batteries do you install? How do we choose between lead-acid and lithium? May we contact our trusted supplier?
Our forklifts can be equipped with either lead-acid or lithium batteries. The choice between the two technologies is mainly based on the required operating autonomy and the available charging windows.
If you wish to use your own trusted supplier: we will provide you with the technical drawing of the battery compartment and the minimum weight requirements. Your supplier will then send us their design for a compatibility check and to define the anchoring points.
4. What are the advantages of choosing an electric forklift over a diesel or LPG one?

5. How does after-sales service and spare parts management work?
Every Raniero forklift can be monitored and reprogrammed remotely via our dedicated Raniero Software. Our technicians can intervene directly on the forklift from a distance to support your team in real time.

6. Do you manufacture the attachments in-house as well?
Yes, we directly design and manufacture masts, fork carriages, integral sideshifters, and sideshifting fork positioners. For special attachments — such as paper roll clamps, brick clamps, rotating fork carriages, multi-pallet handlers, or crane booms — you can contact your local suppliers. Our team is always available to assist you in making the correct technical choice based on the load to be handled.
7. What do we need to prepare inside the warehouse to recharge a battery of a Raniero electric forklift?
A three-phase power line installation is required, the voltage of which varies depending on the country of use (e.g., 380V in Europe, 440V or 480V in North America). Your battery and charger supplier will be able to provide specific details. Regarding charging plugs, we may configure the forklift with the connection type you intend to use. It is important that the forklift is parked in an area protected from weather elements.
8. Why do some models have the tilt cylinders positioned above the roof?
While tilt cylinders are normally located at the bottom, the overhead configuration with cylinders above the roof (HT) is highly recommended in the following cases:
- For lift heights exceeding h3= 5,000 mm – 196 in.
- For handling very wide loads (e.g. timber boards).
- When the forklift requires an exceptionally compact configuration (reduced length compared to the standard).
- When using specialized attachments such as paper clamps.
- When there are no structural height limits (low doors, containers, low-clearance obstacles).
9. Raniero forklifts offers different voltage options (80V, 96V, 120V). How do we choose the right one?
Generally speaking, for a given amperage, the higher the battery voltage, the greater the forklift’s operational autonomy. Choosing the ideal voltage is not up to the customer: it is defined directly by our engineers based on the daily hours of use and handling use, lift heights, the type of attachment required, and the specific industrial sector where the machine will operate.
10. Where does production take place? How is your plant organized?
Raniero forklifts are entirely designed, manufactured, and tested at our headquarters in Fonte (Treviso), Italy. Our technical department handles the in-house engineering of the chassis, the cabin, and all componentry. Once the semi-finished goods and electronic components are ready, we internally manage metalworking, fabrication, painting, and bodywork, as well as the production of masts, hydraulic systems, and electrical installations. We would be delighted to host you at our facility to show you the entire production cycle first-hand, from the initial stages to the final testing.
11. What are the main differences between the TGV cabin and the MAGNIFICA cabin?
Both cabins are available for the ACL and AC80-180 series (at a 600 mm load center). For models in the AC160-12 up to 330-12 line, however, the Magnifica cabin is included as standard.
Below are the main features of each model:
- TGV Cabin (Compactness and Functionality): A cabin featuring squared lines and compact dimensions, designed to offer excellent all-around visibility. It comes configured as standard with a manual lever hydraulic distributor. It can be customized with numerous optional accessories, including electro-hydraulic controls, a heating system with front vents, and much more.
- MAGNIFICA Cabin (Ergonomics, Visibility, and Design): Our top-of-the-line model, developed to maximize operator comfort, especially during prolonged and intensive use. The curved front windshield and large side and rear windows provide unparalleled 360° visibility. It includes heating with front vents as standard, an integrated ergonomic armrest with mini-finger or mini-lever controls, and pre-arrangement for various Grammer comfort seats. Additionally, it features a lateral cabin tilting system designed to allow service technicians quick and safe access to the motor compartment.

12. For the 8T – 10T / 17600 – 22000 lb. capacities, what are the differences between the ACL model and the AC model?
- The ACL line is a series with an 80V battery voltage and a compact 1240Ah battery, featuring a dual-drive motor. It is ideal for those who need a forklift for short but frequent operations, working in narrow aisles, and an average usage of 4-5 hours per day.
- The AC line is a series available with 96V and 120V battery voltages and different battery amperages — from 1550Ah up to 1860Ah — with a dual-drive motor. It is ideal for full-shift or multi-shift operations up to 20 hours per day. It offers high performance and can provide an autonomy of up to 10-11 effective hours of use on a single charge.
